Agriculture & Agribusiness

Global Issue: About 440 million farmers in developing countries still practice mainly subsistence agriculture on much of their land, being unaware and lacking access to contemporary agricultural advances. Agricultural commercialization, economic development, and nutrition are interdependent. The commercialization of agriculture for economic development and nutritional improvement requires a range of policy changes, market reform, rural infrastructure improvement, and the development of legal and contractual environments in which farmers and processors may operate.

We are committed to:

  • Strengthening private agribusiness by providing consulting services, training and assistance in the following areas: trading and investing, business development, production and processing, applying environmental safeguards, and marketing.

  • Providing technical assistance to increase the productivity of farming that is sustainable over the long term by training farmers on modern technical practices to achieve better yields for their crops and more productive livestock.
